Peter Andras (CV)

I aim to engage more actively the community of young researchers and the world of AI companies to ensure that the INNS supports the mobility of PhD students between labs across the world and their engagement with the full range of AI focused companies. In the context of the current rapid technological change and competition for funding it is critically important to set up and maintain large scale collaboration networks to facilitate mobility and cross-fertilisation across industry and academia. Working closely with industry and governmental R&D initiatives is key to the success of scientific societies and this is exponentially increasingly true in today’s world of extremely fast AI innovation and increasing international competition. I will work towards the strengthening of industrial and governmental collaborations of the INNS. I will work on the more active involvement of AI companies and relevant government initiatives in INNS sponsored conferences and events.

Plamen Angelov (CV)

My whole research (from late 1980s) revolves around learning from data and coincides with the developments in the area of neural networks. I am bringing both, the experience and wisdom as well as new fresh ideas. I am passioned about the topic which finally become centre-stage and I am happy to see the resurgence of interest and increased number of submissions to IJCNN, but I believe, we can do even more to improve and position better within this fast-changing landscape. Improving the quality of the flagship conference, workshops, following the examples of TMLR we may think of an open-source fast-turnaround journal, repositories such as GitHub as well as ArXiv also may give us new ideas how we can collect and expose top class research and software as well as interesting data sets, establishing benchmarks, competitions, etc. In my personal research I am interested in explainability and links with the brain and reasoning. This is an area in which INNS stands out and we can exploit.

Danilo Comminiello (CV)

If elected to the INNS Board of Governors, I will work to strengthen the society's role as the global hub for neural network research. My priorities are:- Empowering the flagship INNS conference: increase the prestige of IJCNN among the AI research communities.- Community growth: foster inclusivity and support for emerging research regions.- Strengthening academia–industry collaboration: build partnerships that highlight the societal relevance of neural networks. Empowering young researchers: expand mentorship, schools, and student challenges.- Advancing next-generation AI: promote recent advances on neural networks, bridging theory and real-world impact. I bring experience as General Chair of IJCNN 2025 and Chair of the IEEE MLSP TC, with a track record of organizing large-scale events, advancing interdisciplinary initiatives, and mentoring early-career scientists. I am committed to advancing INNS's mission of scientific excellence, inclusivity, and innovation.
