Professor Jayne currently serves as the Dean of the School of Computing & Engineering at Teesside University. Her research interests lie in developing and applying novel methods in artificial neural networks. Throughout her career, Professor Jayne has authored over 90 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and leading conferences. She is a Fellow of the BCS and a Senior Fellow of the UK HEA. Professor Jayne has also held prominent roles within the INNS, serving as President 2021/22, and currently as Vice President of Conferences. She has contributed significantly to the organisation of the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), having served as Program Chair in 2017, General Co-Chair in 2019, Technical Chair in 2024 and Financial Chair in 2025. Professor Jayne is deeply committed to the advancement of research in Artificial Neural Networks and remains a dedicated member of INNS, tirelessly working to further the society's mission.
